Hanbando Offshore Wind Supports Community Activities in Jawol Island
February 20, 2026
Hanbando Offshore Wind donated KRW 20 million worth of goods to support community clubs on Jawol Island and strengthen local engagement.
Hanbando Offshore Wind donated goods worth KRW 20 million through the Jawol Residents’ Council to support the activities of 21 local community clubs. The items were prepared in consultation with the council to reflect the operational needs of each club and to support cultural and sports activities within the island community.
Hanbando Offshore Wind is currently developing a 1,125 MW bottom-fixed offshore wind project located approximately 120 km off the coast of Incheon. After securing its Electricity Business License (EBL) in March 2025, the project is progressing through key permitting procedures, including the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The island communities of Incheon, including Jawol Island, are located near the project area. As offshore wind development is closely connected with the marine environment, fisheries, and local communities, continuous dialogue and cooperation with local stakeholders are essential for responsible project development.
Since the early stages of the project, Hanbando Offshore Wind has been engaging with local residents, fisheries organizations, and local authorities to share project-related information and listen to local perspectives throughout key processes such as the Environmental Impact Assessment.
This donation is part of these ongoing efforts to foster constructive relationships with the local community. Hanbando Offshore Wind will continue to advance the project responsibly through close cooperation with local stakeholders while striving to create sustainable value together with the region.
