Hanbando Offshore Wind (HBOW) held the “2026 HBOW Workshop” at The Week & Resort in Incheon from August 31 to September 1, bringing the team together to review the project’s key achievements and discuss its future strategies.
It’s been 18 months after securing Electric Business License (EBL) in March 2025. The project team has advanced by completing a four-season Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), preliminary geophysical and geotechnical surveys, export cable route and landfall studies, and negotiations on the use of transmission facilities – all essential permitting and technical works in early development phase. Alongside this, the team has doubled in size, strengthening our execution capacity, and bringing on board local talents.
The workshop looked back on these development milestones and identified ‘strengthening acceptance among local residents and fisheries, while moving forward with onshore permitting and engineering design work’ as one of the key priorities for the project’s continued success.
